CSR and Sponsorships

Each year, Greenland Travel receives a large number of sponsorship applications. Fortunately, many of them are strong and meaningful projects; however, we are not in a position to support them all.

We are part of a joint sponsorship collaboration within the Air Greenland Group. This means that we pool funds with the other companies in the group and process all applications centrally. This increases the size of the funding pool, and you do not need to submit separate applications to different companies within the group. The purpose is to make the process simpler and more transparent – for both applicants and us. Therefore, applications should be submitted to one single address and will be reviewed collectively.

The sponsorship committee consists of representatives from Air Greenland, Greenland Travel, Arctic Excursions, Hotel Arctic, and World of Greenland.

Application Deadlines and Responses

The sponsorship committee meets five times per year:

What Do We Prioritize?

Greenland Travel focuses on:

  • Activities that benefit as many children and young people as possible
  • Projects originating in Greenland
  • Initiatives with broad community impact

To ensure that our funds benefit as many people as possible, we do not support individual personal projects or provide travel grants.

Important: ILIK Tickets

The Air Greenland Group receives many applications each week for travel sponsorships. We fully understand this – we connect the entire country. However, we are not able to accommodate all requests.

For this reason, we have established a dedicated ILIK ticket fund to support students and sports and cultural activities in Greenland. Through this program, you may receive up to a 75% discount on travel.

As we allocate significant resources to the ILIK scheme, we do not provide sponsorships in the form of prizes for school classes or similar purposes.

How to Apply

Your application must include:

  • A brief project description
  • A budget outlining expected income and expenses
  • Information about who will be traveling and when
  • A description of reciprocal benefits, including how the sponsorship can be actively integrated into Greenland Travel’s marketing
