Day program

Peter Lindstrøm - Visit Greenland
Day 1:
Direct Flight from Copenhagen to Nuuk

Your journey begins in Copenhagen, where you board your flight bound for Greenland’s capital. Even before landing, you’re treated to a spectacular view – a landscape of mountains, islands, and glittering ice that sets the scene for the coming days.

Upon arrival, you’re warmly welcomed and transferred to Hotel HHE Express, located right in the heart of the city and certified with the international environmental label The Green Key. The hotel offers modern comfort, and from here you can easily explore Nuuk on foot.

City Tour in Nuuk

In the afternoon, you’ll join a guided city tour that gives you a vivid impression of Nuuk. The tour includes both historical landmarks and striking modern architecture, while your guide shares insights into life in the world’s northernmost capital – a place where tradition and progress blend seamlessly. You’ll visit the Colonial Harbor, the Katuaq Cultural Center, and enjoy panoramic views over the city from the surrounding hills.

The evening is yours to enjoy as you wish. Perhaps you’ll dine at one of Nuuk’s fine restaurants, or take a peaceful evening stroll along the fjord, where the light shifts from golden to blue beneath the midnight sun.

Day 2:
Boat Trip Through the Fjord to Qooqqut

After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll pack your things and prepare for your fjord adventure. You’ll have time to grab a bite to eat before departure. At 1 p.m., the boat leaves the harbor and sets out toward Qooqqut. The route takes you deep into the Nuuk Fjord – one of the largest fjord systems in the world – surrounded by dramatic mountains, green slopes, and small pieces of ice drifting by in the clear water.

Along the way, you may spot seabirds, seals, or perhaps even a humpback whale lifting its distinctive tail above the surface. The skipper knows the fjord inside out and will point out interesting sights and stories, making the journey even more memorable.

After about an hour on the water, Qooqqut appears ahead – a small, green spot nestled in the wild landscape. You’ll check into one of the cozy cabins overlooking the fjord. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax, take a short walk, or sit on the terrace and enjoy the silence.

In the evening, you’ll gather in the Qooqqut Nuan’ restaurant to enjoy a delicious dinner made from fresh Greenlandic ingredients. The menu varies with the season and the daily catch, but the quality is consistently excellent. As dusk settles over the fjord, the mountains reflect in the calm water – a magical ending to a beautiful day.

Day 3:
Experiences and Serenity in Qooqqut

The morning begins with fresh air and the smell of warm, freshly baked bread from the restaurant. Enjoy breakfast with a view of the fjord, where the sunlight sparkles across the water’s surface.

This day is dedicated to relaxation and finding your own pace. Take a short hike in the area around Qooqqut, where the landscape shifts between green meadows, small streams, and viewpoints offering sweeping panoramas of the fjord. Behind the restaurant, you’ll see a rare sight for this latitude – small trees and shrubs that give the place a surprisingly lush character.

Or stay close to your cabin, lean back, and let the calm settle in. Read a book, photograph the surrounding mountains, or sit quietly by the water. Qooqqut is a place that invites reflection and stillness – far removed from the rush of everyday life.

In the evening, another delicious dinner is served in the restaurant, and the atmosphere among guests and staff is relaxed and welcoming. You may wish to take a short walk at dusk, when the sky and the mountain peaks turn golden before you retire to your cabin for the night.

Day 4:
Return to Nuuk

After one last breakfast in Qooqqut, it’s time to say goodbye to the fjord. The boat departs at 11 a.m., and on the trip back to Nuuk, you can enjoy the final views of this majestic landscape.

Around midday, you’ll check back in at Hotel HHE Express. The rest of the day is yours to explore Nuuk at your own pace. You might visit the National Museum of Greenland, home to the famous Qilakitsoq mummies, or take a stroll through the colorful Colonial Harbor, lined with wooden houses.

The city also offers art galleries, local design shops, and cozy cafés overlooking the water. Nuuk is a modern yet deeply Greenlandic city – a place where you can feel both vibrancy and calm at once.

In the evening, you might end your trip with a delightful dinner – perhaps at the popular Restaurant Sarfalik, which blends Nordic flavors with Greenlandic ingredients.

Day 5:
Flight from Nuuk to Copenhagen

After five memorable days, it’s time to bid farewell to Greenland. Following breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Copenhagen.

As you look out the window during the flight, the mountains and fjords fade into the distance – and you’ll find yourself thinking back to the calm of Qooqqut, the clear air, the open sky, and those many quiet moments of stillness and wonder.

The journey ends in Copenhagen – but the memories of Nuuk Fjord will stay with you for a long time.
