After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll pack your things and prepare for your fjord adventure. You’ll have time to grab a bite to eat before departure. The boat leaves the harbor and sets out toward Qooqqut. The route takes you deep into the Nuuk Fjord – one of the largest fjord systems in the world – surrounded by dramatic mountains, green slopes, and small pieces of ice drifting by in the clear water.
Along the way, you may spot seabirds, seals, or perhaps even a humpback whale lifting its distinctive tail above the surface. The skipper knows the fjord inside out and will point out interesting sights and stories, making the journey even more memorable.
After about an hour on the water, Qooqqut appears ahead – a small, green spot nestled in the wild landscape. You’ll check into one of the cozy cabins overlooking the fjord. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax, take a short walk, or sit on the terrace and enjoy the silence.
In the evening, you’ll gather in the Qooqqut Nuan’ restaurant to enjoy a delicious dinner made from fresh Greenlandic ingredients. The menu varies with the season and the daily catch, but the quality is consistently excellent. As dusk settles over the fjord, the mountains reflect in the calm water – a magical ending to a beautiful day.
