Exclusive Experience Overlooking Icebergs and Stellar Gastronomy at Restaurant KOKS in 2023

This 4-day trip is designed for those of you for whom time and convenience matter. You fly Premium Class with Air Greenland from Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq. Here you’ll transfer to a smaller plane bound for Ilulissat, where the magnificent Ilulissat Icefjord awaits you with its unforgettable beauty.

Hotel Arctic and excursions in Ilulissat

In Ilulissat, you’ll be accommodated in one of the lovely junior suites at Hotel Arctic, and in the evening, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at Brasserie Ulo. There are plenty of things to do in Ilulissat, so talk to us about your options: Helicopter tours, flightseeing, boat trips, or hiking are some of the many options!

The next morning, you will visit Sermermiut, inhabited by Inuit for 4,500 years, where we will go to the Old Women’s Gorge, among other places. You will also visit the architecturally beautiful Icefjord Centre, designed by Danish star architect Dorthe Mandrup.

Ilimanaq Lodge and Restaurant KOKS

In the early afternoon, you will sail to Ilimanaq, and you will have a meeting to get the information and background to enjoy this cozy little settlement, one of the oldest in Greenland. Then you check into your lodge, where you can sit on the large balcony and enjoy a glass of wine while watching ice – and perhaps whales – approaching the shore.
In the evening, you will dine at Restaurant KOKS, the 2-star Michelin restaurant that has relocated to Ilimanaq for the 2022-3 seasons. You can look forward to a very special Tasting Menu, which you can pair with an excellent wine or juice menu (drinks not included).

The next morning you can enjoy a delicious KOKS breakfast and then you will stay in Ilimanaq until the afternoon and get more out of your, stay far from a demanding everyday life. Later in the day, once again, check into one of the junior suites at Hotel Arctic.

The next morning, you return to Copenhagen.

Where Will You Stay?

You will be accommodated at Hotel Arctic in Ilulissat in one of the hotel’s comfortable junior suites. The hotel has been designed with attention to detail, with delicious restaurants and pleasant communal areas with unbelievably beautiful views of the town and the mouth of the Icefjord.

At Ilimanaq Lodge, you will be accommodated in a wonderful private cabin with a fantastic view of Disko Bay.

Optional Add-on Excursion: Glacier Adventure Ilimanaq

This is a super-exciting excursion where you’ll go speedboating, off-road ATVing, and trekking on a glacier! We sail south from Ilimanaq to Itilliup Ilua. Here we are dropped off on a very wide sandy beach, and from here, we go off-road in all-terrain ATVs to Tasiusaq Fjord.

We now sail deeper into the fjord between the icebergs until we get to where two glaciers and the ice sheet can be seen. We disembark and enjoy a packed lunch and the view. Then we trek for a while and finally climb onto the huge ice sheet. You can watch a video here.
