Passport and visa
Here you will find information on passport and visa rules that are important to know before your trip to Greenland
Citizens of Nordic countries
Nordic citizens must be able to show valid photo identification at check-in, at the security check and before boarding the aircraft. Valid photo identification includes, for example, a passport or a driving licence. We recommend that you bring your passport. Citizens of the Nordic countries do not need a visa to travel to Greenland.
EU citizens
Travellers from EU countries other than the Nordic countries must be able to show a passport. A visa is not required for travel to Greenland.
Citizens of other countries
If you come from a country whose citizens require a visa for Denmark, a visa is also required to travel to Greenland. Please note that you must apply separately for a visa to Greenland. A visa for Denmark does not automatically include a visa for Greenland. Ask the Danish Immigration Service for advice if you are unsure which rules apply to you.
If you travel without a valid visa, you may be refused boarding, with no liability for your onward journey.

Always remember to bring valid photo identification so that you can identify yourself during your trip.
