The fantastic trip gives you an amazing impression of the vast country: You cross the Arctic Circle,see musk oxen up close and the endless inland ice in Kangerlussuaq, Sisimiut's beautiful houses randomly scattered as small color spots around the rocky landscape and not the least the impressive ice fjord in Ilulissat.
You are transported by both flight and coastal ship, which gives you a unique chance of experiencing the grandness of Greenland.
The sailing trip along the coast is a fantastic bonus allowing you to relax while enjoying both the culture and nature.
Day program
Day 1
Departure from Copenhagen in the morning. First stop is Kangerlussuaq - the largest and most used gateway to Greenland, when traveling by air over the North Atlantic. Here the hinterland reveals fantastic nature experiences with a huge mountain terrain, abundant wildlife and especially the inland ice.
Day 2
Go for example on a musk oxen safari and try to capture this huge hairy ox with your camera and binoculars. And do you dream of standing up on the inland ice, Kangerlussuaq is the perfect place. By four-wheel bus you are taken directly out to the ice, where you can take a walk and really feel the nature's power.
Day 3
By air the trip continues to Sisimiut - Greenland's second largest town.The town is beautifully situated in the countryside with picturesque wooden houses in the most beautiful colors.
Take a cup of coffee, go shopping and visit the open fish and meat market. It is recommended to take a guided town tour which will give you a fine impression of the history of the town in the past and today.
Day 4
The area invites to easy hiking trips in the hilly area with rivers and lakes and lots of Arctic flowers. On an excursion by boat, it is possible to visit a local settlement or perhabs catch your own dinner.
Day 5
The day is at your own disposal. Go for a walk in the town, grab a cafe latte. Enjoy the nice atmosphere of the town and the omnipresent nature. Also remember to visit one of the town's souvenir shops, which have a good selection of Greenlandic handicrafts. In the evening you board the ship Sarfaq Ittuk and it is now time to experience the Greenland coast up north towards Disko Bay.
Day 6
Before arriving at Ilulissat and when reaching the Disko Bay a brief stop at Aasiaat town is made. Go up on deck and enjoy the magic sight of icebergs emerging with shorter and shorter intervals.

Day 7-10
Ilulissat is situated at the famous Ilulissat ice fjord and near the ice cap. It guarantees you experiences in international class, and it is up to you to set the speed. The ultimate experience in Ilulissat is the ice fjord and the glacier Kangia, where 20 million tons of ice are produced each day. The ice calves with thunderous crash and huge icebergs are born.
The icefjord can be experienced at sea, by land or air. Icefjord sailing trips are offered and you sail among the huge icebergs. You can also participate in a guided hiking trip along the icefjord, and in helicopter flights
where you fly at low altitude over the icefjord and along the glacier.
Ilulissat is situated in the Disko Bay, which hides many natural treasures. It is entirely up to you to put together a program for the say which suits you the best. Go for example on a day trip to the Disko Island and experience
the spectacular basalt cliffs and the very lush and green nature. Or maybe a trip to the calving glacier Eqi where you spend the night in your own cabin with the most indescribable view and sounds of nature's forces when the ice breaks.
Close to Ilulissat you find the tiny settlement Oqaatsut / Rodebay reachable by excursion boat. Enjoy a meal at the very charming restaurant H8.
Day 11
Departure flight from Ilulissat to Kangerlussuaq and then on to Copenhagen with arrival next morning.
