We recommend that you take out insurance for cancellation due to illness when you book your tour. You can take out the insurance when you book the tour and pay for it together with the deposit. If you buy cancellation insurance you will be entitled to cancel your tour in case of illness and obtain a full refund minus the cost of the insurance premium. The insurance does not cover cancellations after departure.

In order to receive a refund you must provide a medical certificate documenting that you, your spouse/partner, your child, son/daughter-in-law, grand child, brother, sister, parent, grand parent, parent-in-law, brother/sister-in-law or travelling companion is unable, or only with difficulty is able to travel as a result of sudden acute illness, serious injury or death.

Acute illness which is covered by the insurance is a new illness, a well founded suspicion of a new, serious illness or an unexpected worsening of an existing or chronic illness. The medical certificate must be received by Greenland Travel no later than 1 month after cancellation.

We can provide Europaeiske Rejseforsikring A/S' travel insurance with supplementary insurances covering accident, luggage, compensation travel and late arrival (for example to connecting flights). The illness cancellation insurance amounts to 6% of the cost of the travel.

Please note that other travel insurances must be bought in your own country.
