



Guided City Walk of the Capitol of Nuuk - GOH01
Take a closer look at the history of the place, its vibrant everyday life and culture on a guided walk around the world’s smallest capital city, Nuuk. The tour lasts around 2 1/2 hours and is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about colonial times and the key players. Experience the centre of power on the polished floors in Hjemmestyret (Home government building). Gain an insight into the living culture and, not least, the strong links back to ancient Greenland traditions.

Visit to Landstingssalen - GOH02
See the landstingssalen (government building) and learn all about Greenland home rule and the story behind it. Landstinget is the home government’s legislative body, equivalent to the parliament in Denmark. Greenland won home rule on 1 May 1979, and you can see the place where important decisions are made. The sitting members of Landstinget are politicians from various parts of the country, and the parliament has at least two sessions a year lasting several months to determine the shape of tomorrow’s Greenland.

Helicopter to the inland ice - GOH03
Visit the old viking ruins in Anavig. Opportunity for a little hike on the inland ice itself. A visit in Kapisillit - the only active settlement in Godthåbsfjorden. Here you will learn the meaning of living i a hunters society. In Kapisillit we will enjoy a piece of cake and a cup of coffee/tea with a local family. This is a luxury trip for those who wants to experience everything.

Hike round “Lille Malene” - GOH04
The hills are a wonderful sight and you can experience them in numerous different ways.
You don’t have to be especially fit to join this tour which offers walkers an opportunity to get close to nature. You will see the hardy yet vulnerable Arctic flora, whose beautiful flowers grace the short Greenland summer. While the walk does not contain any major climbs, you will still enjoy some amazing observation points, such as the flatlands of Akia (Nordlandet,) the mountain of Sermitsiaq or simply the views across the fiord.

Whale watching around Nuuk - GOH05
The area around Nuuk has always been renowned for its beautiful fiord systems and majestic Humpback whales in particular. From June to late September you have a far better chance of seeing these amazing creatures here than anywhere else in Greenland. Whale watching is a must on a visit to Nuuk.
There are mainly three species of whale in Godthåbsfjorden, (Fiord of Good Hope), the second largest fjord system in the world.
The waters are rich in shoal swimming fish and crustaceans. Humpback, Minke, also known as the herring fisher, and Fin whales are certain sights from May to November. You may also see Blue whales and Killer whales if you are lucky.
