In the area around Kangerlussuaq you find wild Musk Oxen. We go on safari in four wheel drives and get at a close range of this magnificient animals.

Sightseeing Kangerlussuaq - no. SFJ03

The sight seeing tour around Kangerlussaq gives you a thorough introduction to the town and its history. We also visit the harbour, the science village Kellyville, the sledge dog park and last but not least the museum.

Tour to the inland ice and grill - no. SFJ04

The inland ice is just a couple of hours away from Kangerlussuaq by car. Experience an untraditional half days trip to the inland ice. There is a 2 hour stop at the ice which is spent by exploring the ice and enjoying the food which is prepared on a grill.
Remember warm clothes because of the cold wind which comes from the ice.

Offroad to the Russell Glacier - SFJ05

Our destination is the steep glacier front of The Russell Glacier, where you will experience the activity of the ice on warm summer days - big pieces of ice falling off making thunderous noises. Alternatively we may drive to Point 660 where you have the possibility to walk on the Inland Ice Cap. The actual destination will be decided just before departure depending upon the weather.

Car excursion to the Inland Ice Cap - SFJ06

Perhaps one of the most popular excursion in Greenland!
The excursion is undertaken in a special vehicle which takes us all the way to the Inland Ice Cap. On the way we pass through interesting arctic nature, arctic dessert, floating rivers and if we are lucky we see both reindeer, arctic foxes and musk ox. At the edge of the ice cap the car stops and you get the opportunity to actually set foot on this giant ice cap.

Hike to the Garnet Hill - no. SFJ07

A whole day hike into the country by Kangerlussuaq. We'll drive the first part away from the city and start the hike where the road ends. We'll pass the lake, Great Salt Lake, and there is a great chance that we'll see musk oxen. By the Garnet Hill we'll enjoy the lunch while looking after beautifull garnets with tools. The hike takes place outside any trails which demands good footwear.
If you feel safe hiking alone then the hike can be done without a guide but under all circumstances you should get a ride to the end of the road.

Rent a mountainbike - no. SFJ30

You can rent a mountainbike with 21 gears and explore the area around Kangerlussuaq on your own. There are good possibilities to come wide around. If you are an experienced rider then you can go all the way into the inland ice. It takes about the most of a day for a roundtrip.
