Disco Bay - the heart of Greenland
The most visited place in Greenland is the Disco Bay in North West Greenland
300 km north of the Polar Circle you find the Disco Bay. This is the place where you find huge icebergs, the famous UNESCO site Ilulissat Icefiord, the volcanic Disco Island and lots of other spectacular places.
In the summer the midnight sun rules and in winter you have to watch out for fast moving dog sledges when you cross the streets.
Ilulissat is the largest and most famous town in the Disco Bay
The heart of the Disco Bay some might say. Ilulissat has 5,500 inhabitants and the double in sledge dogs. Ilulissat means Icebergs and the name refers to Ilulissat Icefiord next to town where huge icebergs breaks the endless horizon.
